Meet the Staff!
The staff of The Central New York Playhouse is culled from a variety of local theaters.  With over 200
They are dedicated to facilitating affordable local theater and operating a vibrant theater space.
Artistic Director
Dustin M. Czarny
communtiy theater.  A veteran performer and SALT
nominated director, Dustin has produced, performed in,  
and directed plays with several different local theater
companise winning several TANYS and SALT
nominations.  As Artistic Director he is responsible for
the overall operation and vision for the company.
 
Theatrical Events Director
Greg J. Hipius
Greg Hipius has been a fixture of the Syracuse
community theater scene for over 20 years and a
performer his entire life.  He has worked on and served
as a board member and offficer in a host of local
theatrical companies.  His role of Theatrical Events
Director focuses on the variety of special productions
CNY Playhouse will offer.
Producing Director
Dan Rowlands
Dan has been a fixture in local theater for the last few
years and most recently blossomed into one of the
area's best young directors.  He has become known for
his  special effects work and new take on classic shows.
 As Producing Director he is  focused on our very busy
Mainstage productions and making sure each show has
the best possible support.  
 
Technical Director
Dan Randall
Dan, the mad scientist of local theater, is no stranger to
theater in unique spaces.  He has crawled around in the
rafters of most area theaters.  His effect techniques have
been seen on many stages in CNY  for 30+years.  He has
been a multiple SALT nominee and TANYS winner.  His
role of Technical Director focuses on making our space
into a fully functional theatrical venue.  
Painting Coordinator
Heather J. Roach
In Heather's 15 plus years of comunity theater
involvement she has excelled in bringing unique
characters to life on the stage.  A SALT and TANYS
nominated actor she also is an accomplished stage
manager and prop procurer.  In her role aspainting
coordinator she assists in making sure all of our sets
look beautiful and can be completed on time.
Fundraising Coordinator
Kasey McHale
Kasey has been involved in community theater literally all
her life.  She is a graduate of Lemoyne University's
Theatre and Arts program. She is also a recent SALT and
TANYS nominated actress.  As Publicity & Fundraising
Coordinator she works to make sure all of Central NY and
beyond know about our venue and heading a series of
fundraisers including our Cabaret series.
Costume Coordinator
Pam Hipius
Pam has been on and off stage all around CNY.  She has
costumed and prop shopped a ton of shows.  Having
worked in Central New York theater for over 20 years,
she is a master at organizing and cataloging.  As
Costume Coordinator she manages our ever growing
costume inventory and working with individual shows to
meet their needs.
Prop Coordinator
Crystal Rowlands
Crystal is a gifted comedic actress and an accomplished
stage manager.  She is always willing to help out in any
production she is in and a ton of productions she's not.  
As Props Coordinator she has the daunting task of
making sure our shows and actors have the roper props
needed for their productions and keeping our inventory
clean.
Construction Coordinator
Mike Shay
Mike has been building sets since he was too young to be
playing with power tools.  He specializes in unusual time
on a limited budget.  His sets and technical direction has
won several TANYS awards.  As Construction Coordinator
he is overseeing our transitions and making sure all
resources are used wisely.  
Youth and Teaching Coordinator
Jenn DeCook
Jenn is a professional educator and experienced
instructor in youth theater.  She is also a SALT
nominated director and TANYS award winning and SALT
nominated actress.  As the Youth and Teaching
Coordinator she is devising a theater day camp program
to debut in July of 2013.  Stay tuned for more details!
Box Office & Usher Coordinator
Patricia Catchouny
Pat's 40+ years in community theater has led her to do
just about everything on the stage.  A TANYS award
winning director and performer, she has an enthusiasm
for live performance parallel to none.  As Box Office and
Usher Coordinator, she makes sure that when you come
to theater, friendly faces will greet you.  She also
coordinates volunteers to usher you to your seat.
Consulting Scenic Designer
Navroz Dabu
Navroz is a Tanys and SALT award winning stage
designer.  Navroz will consult on a good deal of our stage
designer.  Navroz will consult on a good deal of our stage
designs but will also be designing the stage itself.  He is
helping transform our space into a modern theater with a
unique look.

Publicity Coordinator
Justin Polly
Justin Polly is the newest member of our team.  His
focus will be on our various social media platforms as
well as interviews and behind the scenes interviews.  
Reaching out to the Central New York community is a
must to showcase the local talent we are putting on our
stage.
